Making dosage bottles from the stock bottles generally available for purchase is not at all difficult, and can make your purchased (stock bottle) remedy last many times longer. This is especially useful for making up extra bottles of Rescue Remedy to carry about in the car or other first aid kits.
Water Solution
If you only need to take the remedy for a few days, you can simply put 5-10 drops into a glass of clear, still spring water (or tap water if that is all you have available) and take a sip of this whenever you need a dose. This mixture will only last as long as the water is fit to drink, and must be discarded as soon as the water shows signs of foreign matter. Keep the glass covered, out of direct sunlight, and in summer, consider storing it in the fridge.
Alcohol Solution
For a long lasting dosage solution, use 1 part Brandy to 3 parts clear non-mineralised spring water, or distilled water. For a 25ml amber dropper bottle, use 5 drops of stock remedy in the brandy/water solution. Best stored in an amber bottle, kept out of direct sunlight. Does not need to be refrigerated. Then use 5 drops per dose as needed. For use in a larger water jug/bottle, or bath – use up to 12 drops.
Glycerine Solution
Mix 1 part Glycerine to 1 part clear non-mineralised spring water (or distilled water). For a 25ml amber dropper bottle, use 5 drops of stock remedy in the Glycerine/water solution. Use as above.
Rice Syrup
Mix 1 part rice syrup to 1 part clear non-mineralised spring water (or distilled water). For a 25ml amber dropper bottle, use 5 drops of stock remedy in the syrup/water solution. Use as above.
Alcohol/Base Intolerances
For those sensitive or allergic to alcohol, other preservatives can be used. You may be able to purchase your stock remedy in vinegar, for example. If you are so allergic that even the 5 drops of alcohol-preserved stock remedy diluted in vinegar, glycerine or rice syrup will cause a reaction, you must purchase your original stock remedy in an alternative base. Some flower essence distribution companies do provide vinegar based stock remedies, for example. If your flower essence is not available in an alternative base, you can also apply the remedy topically, to the skin on the inside of the wrist, or at the temples – somewhere where the blood vessels are close to the surface skin. Flower Essences can also be absorbed by the skin and the aura when they are put into a bath.
Please Note: Flower Essence remedies bought through Body Wise Soul Wise Healing are already dosage bottles, with individually selected stock remedies, and should not be further diluted.
